The inventions are Gas Lighting and the Screw-Cutting Lathe. The inventors are Benjamin Thompson and William Murdoch.
Gas Lighting is a light that is powered by gas. It was very helpful because it could burn continuously without burning out but it caused a lot of fires so electrical lighting was prompted quickly.
The Screw-Cutting Lathe is a machine that makes screws. It makes the screws by spinning a piece of metal while moving it forward onto a blade. Because of the Screw-Cutting Lathe all one has to do to get screws is walk into a hardware store and choose from the large variety of screws.
Benjamin Thompson is the man who improved chimneys and fireplaces, and invented the Sous Vide. It takes longer to cook when using the Sous Vide than in the oven but the food cooks evenly.
William Murdoch invented Gas Lighting. It was a big help in providing light, and because of this light, business hours could be extended. So, more items could be produced and that made prices decrease.
So Gas Lighting and the Screw-Cutting Lathe are inventions that have helped change history. Benjamin Thompson and William Murdoch are inventors that have invented items that have helped change history.

Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Finding the time and actual effort to create a very good article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and never seem to get nearly anything done.
