These four inventions: the Electromechanical Relay, the Revolver, Morse Code, and the Circuit Breaker are the inventions I will write about this week.
The Electromechanical Relay uses an electromagnet to flip an electromechanical switch. The Electromechanical Relay is used in things like thermostats. The thermostat figures out what the temperature of the room is. If the room is too hot then it will send an electromagnet current to the air conditioning which will turn on. This is very useful because the air conditioning will automatically turn on, instead of one having to get up and go turn it on.
The Revolver is a type of small gun. The Revolver can accurately and quickly fire six bullets. If a bullet misfires one there are still bullets left to fire. Originally one has to put in the gunpowder and the bullet and that takes a long time. With the Revolver one can fire more shots before having to reload.
Morse Code is a code used to quickly relay a message in between people. It uses dots and dashes to represent the letters of the alphabet. Morse Code uses the telegraph machine to relay the message. The benefits of the Morse Code is that if you know how to use it can be much faster than writing a letter so news can travel faster.
The Circuit Breaker protects circuits from damage by shutting down the power of the circuit. This is very helpful because the circuit can detect a short circuit and prevent fires.
So to sum it up, my favorite invention is Morse code because I think it is cool how combinations of dots and dash can mean words.
Poppy really likes Morse Code too!
