It was hard to build anything with height without our modern day tools. No one knows how the great pyramids were built. People do know it would have been rather hard to build the pyramids without the crane.
When the crane was invented, taller buildings started being built. It was easier to build higher buildings because the crane helped lift heavy materials such as concrete. All one had to do was raise the crane and then put the building materials in place. Buildings could be taller, and they could also be different shapes. The lighthouse could not be possible without the crane. The crane started being used around 500 B.C. because the Greeks built the great Parthenon, which was very tall and very long.
As one can see, the crane deeply impacted the architecture world. With the crane one could build taller and bigger buildings. This technology makes it possible to build the buildings everyone knows today.
