I learned about four inventions this week, and they are the button, oil paint, the cannon, and the spinning wheel.
The first invention I learned this week was the button. A button is a kind of fastener that is usually round and is sewn to the cloth in the center. It impacted history because it helped keep people warm so less people died during the Ice Age.
The next invention is oil paint. Oil paint is colored powder mixed with oil instead of egg yolks or milk. It impacted history because the paint could be rewetted which meant it could take longer to paint which meant more thought could go into the paintings. I think it is very interesting because the paint could be rewetted by adding a little oil.
The next invention is the cannon. The cannon is like a big gun used to launch projectiles using gunpowder. It impacted history because the Medieval styled castles stopped being built because they could not withstand the cannon fire.
The last invention I learned is the spinning wheel. The spinning wheel helps the making of yarn go faster. It has a wheel that turns a spindle, and the wheel is turned by a pedal. It impacted history because the merchants made a lot of money by selling cloth, and they needed the spinning wheel to make the yarn.
As one can see, the button, oil paint, the cannon, and the spinning wheel have all had impacts on history which have changed the world to how we know it today.
