I learned about three inventions this week: spectacles, mechanical clocks, and paper mills.
The first invention is the spectacles. The spectacles are two frames with lenses in them. They impacted history because even after one’s eyesight becomes fuzzy one can still see with spectacles.
The next invention is the mechanical clock. The mechanical clock is a clock that runs on gears. It impacted history because it gave a more accurate way to tell time.
The last invention is the paper mill. The paper mill is a factory that makes paper by taking old rags and wood shavings and mixing it into a pulp, which I think is the most fascinating thing I learned this week . It impacted history because it was easier to make than parchment so the price of paper was a lot cheaper.
So as one can see, the spectacles, the mechanical clocks, and the paper mills all had a significant impact on history.
