Week 26 Inventions and Inventor

I will write about the Coke-Fired Blast Furnace, the Newcomen Steam Engine, the Octant, and Thomas Newcomen.

The first invention is the Coke-Fired Blast Furnace.  The Coke-Fired Blast Furnace is a blast furnace that is run on coke.  It impacted history because the Coke-Fired Blast Furnace was more efficient so things like wood could be used for other things instead of powering blast furnaces. 

The next invention is the Newcomen Steam Engine.  The Newcomen Steam Engine is a steam engine that uses steam to work.  It impacted history because things could get done faster with the Newcomen Steam Engine.

The last invention is the Octant.  The Octant is a nautical instrument that measures the distance between celestial objects which helps sailors find their latitude.  It impacted history because it helped sailors not get lost as much.

The inventor is Thomas Newcomen.  Thomas Newcomen is the man who helped invent the Newcomen Steam Engine.  He impacted history because a lot of inventions, like trains, would have not been possible without his invention.

So to wrap it up, Coke-Fired Blast Furnace, the Newcomen Steam Engine, and the Octant were items I wrote about.  Thomas Newcomen was the inventor of the Newcomen Steam Engine.
