This week I learned about Condensed Milk, the Sleeping Car, Toilet Paper, and the Washing Machine. I will describe and summarize each of the inventions I learned about this week.
Condensed Milk has added calories to make it richer. Because of this, it keeps the Condensed Milk fresher longer without having to keep it cooled. It changed history because without Condensed Milk lots of desserts would not be possible.
The Sleeping Car is a car on a train that people can sleep in. Before the Sleeping Car people did not like to go on long train rides overnight. With Sleeping Cars more train tickets were bought so people could vacation more often.
Toilet Paper is very thin sheets of tissue paper used for cleaning oneself after using the restroom. Toilet Paper is very handy because without it, it would be very unsanitary to use the restroom. So without Toilet Paper people might be really sick.
The Washing Machine is used to clean clothes. First one puts in the detergent then puts in the clothing. After that, one sets the dial and turns it on. The tank fills up with water then spins really fast to clean the clothes and drains the water. The Washing Machine is so useful because instead of spending hours washing the laundry by hand all one has to do is spend a few minutes putting the laundry into the washing machine.
So to finalize, the most interesting thing I learned about this week is the Washing Machine because I think it is cool to think about how long it used to take to do laundry compared to nowadays.
