The Air Brakes, the Traffic Light, the Tape Measure, and the Pipe Wrench are the inventions I learned about this week.
The Air Brakes are breaks used on trains to help stop the trains quickly. Before the Air Brakes, people would have to stay on top of the train and when the signal was given they would turn a wheel on top of the cart. Then they would jump to the next cart and do the same process.
The benefits of the Air Brakes are that one can stop the train from the cab of the locomotive.
The Traffic Light is a signal for cars to tell it when to stop and go. It is pretty simple to understand, one must stop on red, go on green, and yellow basically means to slow down.
The Traffic Light helped change the word because on busy intersections the Traffic Light helped minimize the deaths. Because all the cars do not go at once.
The Tape Measure is a device used to measure objects. The Tape Measure can roll up tightly inside a metal case, so it can be carried around easily. The benefits of the Tape Measure is that buildings can be built more accurately.
The Pipe Wrench is a wrench used to attach pipes to one another. Regular wrenches could not get a good grip on pipes unlike the Pipe Wrench. The Pipe Wrench makes it easier to do plumbing. So without the Pipe Wrench it would not be possible to have indoor plumbing.
So my favorite invention this week is the Tape Measure because I use the Tape Measure to help me build things.
